WordiLock Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 October 2026
WordiLock helps you learn English vocabulary from your lock screen. This policy explains what the app collects and what it does not.
The short version
- You do not need an account. The app works fully without one.
- Your words, progress and streak stay on your device unless you choose to sign in, which copies your progress to our server so a new phone can pick it up.
- The app does not collect analytics, usage statistics or advertising data.
- Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with advertisers.
What stays on your device
Everything you do in WordiLock is stored locally on your iPhone:
- Which words you have seen, saved or marked as learned
- Your streak, daily count and learning level
- Your settings, including categories and widget refresh interval
- The word shown on your widget
If you are not signed in, none of this is uploaded to us. We cannot see your progress, and we have no way to recover it.
If you have iCloud Backup switched on, Apple includes this data in your device backup, under Apple's terms rather than ours. If you set up a new phone without restoring from a backup, your progress starts over.
If you sign in
Signing in is optional and uses Sign in with Apple. We never see your Apple password. Apple gives us an identifier for you, and an email address only if you choose to share one rather than hide it.
While signed in, your learning progress — which words you have seen, saved or learned, your streak and your settings — is copied to our server so your other devices and your next phone can pick it up. That is the whole purpose of the account, and it is the only reason this data leaves your device.
We do not read it, sell it or share it.
Our server is located in Moscow, Russia, and the connection to it is encrypted (HTTPS). Data you sync is stored there.
You can sign out at any time, which removes the session from this device but leaves your data on the server. Delete Account removes your account and everything stored with it, permanently.
Analytics
This version of WordiLock does not collect analytics. It contains no tracking, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party analytics service. If a future version adds anonymous usage statistics, this policy will be updated first and the app will offer a switch to turn them off.
What we do not collect
- Your name, phone number or any contact details
- Your email address, unless you sign in and choose to share it with us
- Your location
- Your device's advertising identifier
- Usage statistics, screen recordings or crash reports
Reminders
If you turn on reminders, the notifications are scheduled on your iPhone by the app itself. Nothing is sent to a server to deliver them.
Where the data goes
Synced progress, if you sign in, is stored on our server in Moscow, Russia. It is not sent to anyone else.
Children
WordiLock is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Without an account the app holds nothing that would identify anyone. If a child has signed in, use Delete Account in the app, or contact us below and we will remove it.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, UK or another region with similar laws, you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you.
If you have never signed in, we hold no personal data about you at all.
If you have signed in, Delete Account in the app erases your account and all progress stored with it. That is immediate and cannot be undone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
